Spring is a festive time in my garden, bringing long strands of blooming wisteria and blossoming roses, tulips, and freesias. A circular planter adjoins the patio providing an arc of color and a tranquil retreat—the perfect place to host an Easter tea!
For this event I started with multi-piece place settings, focusing on the spring colors of pink, yellow and green. The pink rimmed luncheon plates are made by Minton, and the yellow by Victoria Austria. The green floral bread plates are made by Shelley in the Dubarry pattern. Each place setting is adorned with a chick cookie, made by Harry & David.
The gold and silver flatware is made by Hoogosil H Solingen and the tablecloth is made by Waterford Linens.
I’ve used four different patterns of vintage teacups. Both yellow patterns are made by Coalport, and the green floral and yellow/green chintz sets are made by Paragon.
Petit fours from Harry & David are served on a vintage Aynsley platter.
Fruit is served in a berry bowl set made by R.S. Prussia. The mold is commonly called Hidden Image. I’ve used little cordials for the jelly beans. The vintage glasses are Anchor Hocking Berwick.
The pink floral chintz tiered server is from the Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria, BC, Canada, and I found some great recipes for tea sandwiches at the TeaTime Magazine web site.
Using Coalport plates, the green tiered server is one I created for my Etsy shop. While this piece is no longer available, I have many other beautiful pieces in stock. Harry & David made the fun chick and flower chocolate truffles, as well as the Easter cookie assortment.
A cut crystal glass vase holds a simple arrangement of tulips, button mums, and roses.
Other items on the table include a vintage creamer and sugar set made by R.S. Prussia, and a bunny candy dish made for Hallmark.
Chick and bunny salt and pepper shakers are also made for Hallmark, and sit on a green chintz plate made by Empire China, pattern Lilac Time. My favorite teas are made by Murchie’s in Canada.
I hope you’ve enjoyed a little peak into my Easter tea, and that your visit inspires you to host one of your own!
